General Information

The Andrews Hotel is a beautiful, European-style hotel situated un the centre in San Francisco's well-known theater and shopping areas. Our little size -- just 48 rooms for guests -- allows our amicable and courteous facade table personnel to provide you with personal attention. The building at 624 Post Street was completed in 1905 just before the considerable earthquake on April 18, 1906. Because it was constructed as a Class a structure, absolutely supported by a steel frame, it suffered small damage. However, the fire that engulfed the town after the quake did some damage to the entrance and restaurant.

After being repaired the next November for $38,000, the structure assumed its designed role as the Sultan Turkish Baths, a gentlemen's bath and leisure establishment. The commodious electric sign on the roof announced its arrival on Post Street. As a full facilities work, the Sultan Baths featured a restaurant on the 1st floor. The following level housed a salt-water plunge, tiled hot apartment, and a rubbing apartment. On the third floor one could discover a barber, chiropodist, and a brasserie and hall. The fourth and fifth floors featured little sleeping suites and a steam suite. Finally, on floors six and 7, one could rent one of a few little suites, every containing a bedroom and a parlor. Rumor features it that, at one time, the establishment had a rather unsavory image.

For the comfort and safety of all hotel visitors on New Year's Eve, parties or excessive din will not be allowed in our rooms for guests. Please be recommended that non-registered customers will not be permitted behind the entrance hall. Extra customers will not be added to the reservation at time of check-in.

You'll be asked to stop by the reception to obtain a safety bracelet before leaving for the evening (one bracelet per registered guest). Our Staff will be on duty to help you for the evening. Only customers with bracelets will be allowed access to the visitor elevators and the guestrooms; there will be no exceptions. Please take into account that once the bracelet is on, it able to only be removed by cutting it off.

We strongly suggest that you do not plan on using your vehicle for New Year's Eve. Thanks to the vacation, we are expecting traffic gridlock. Whether you opt to utilize your in-and-out valet benefits, a minimum of one-hour notification will be required. Car park will be accessible only for registered customers at $38. 00 on New Year's Eve and $33. 00 on all other nights. Car parking is subject to 15. 5% car parking tax.
