The James New York, a recently built hotel anchoring the southwest corner of SoHo at Grand and Thompson Streets, will open September 1, 2010, featuring 114 rooms for guests & suites bathed in natural light and unobstructed vistas of Manhattan.

Located in the inn, Celebrity Chef David Burkes' restaurant focuses on wholesome and hearty present-day American food, locally sourced and awarded in the creative and whimsical fashion that is Burke's trademark.
Guests will enjoy a few ways to feel the restaurant, including the Treehouse Bar for artisanal cocktails & homemade sweet and savory pop tarts from the Treehouse's toast bar; the loft-like major breakfast room featuring exposed beams and vistas through glass walls into the kitchen and wine cave; and open-air space within the Urban Garden, opening this summer months. The breakfast room brags a bold, theatrical experience: a carving station where dishes are plated in the heart of the action.
David Burke Kitchen's inside is inspired by the nearby Soho neighborhood, blending the cool, industrial simplicity of an airy loft with the rural cordiality of a state barn.

The Sky Lobby, a third-floor glass-walled welcome and reception, is reachable by a glass lift that transports customers from the first floor entrance to an intimate living room and work networking hall. Complimentary lunch and drink facilities at designated times will be accessible daily in The James Club Sky Lobby.

Each apartment has custom-designed furniture and accessories, and thoughtful guest-centric and environmentally-conscious touches, such as reclaimed forest floors and furnishings; an eco-friendly pillow selection by Keetsa; rugs made from all-natural fibers; easily-accessible electrical outlets; reading lights set in the headboard; and ample visitor bathrooms, the whole with extensive standing showers and separated from the living district by a floor-to-ceiling glass wall and a remote control screen.

The exterior of the 2nd floor will shortly feature a lushly planned Urban Garden, a welcome respite for visitors above the town's fuss. The connected Garden Bar & Restaurant, takes its visual cues from the open-air space which in turn features a range of cosy seating arrangements amidst park-like landscaping; and will feature a select carte menu of lunches, a broad selection of hot and iced teas, and will also be accessible for conferences and privately-owned occasions.

The building's rooftop is a sexy public ambience, with an enclosed brasserie and hall set against the expansive backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Framed by the hotel's architectural "halo, " the privy rooftop pool featuring teak forest decking and open-air showers, will comprise both inner and open-air seating for warm weather fun and leisure.
