The Best Western Gregory hotel lies ten miles from city center Manhattan, Brooklyn Army Terminal. five 1/2 miles from the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn academy of music, Coney Island, and with in short distance to the metro, FT. Hamilton army base & Verazzano Narrows Bridge.
The building that is home to the Best Western Gregory was constructed in 1926 as the Hotel Madrid. It was one of Brooklyn's premiere luxury hotels.
Just prior to World War II a gentleman named Mr. Gregarious purchased the Hotel and the name was changed to the Hotel Gregory.
On May 1996, Sunburst Hospitality purchased the Hotel Gregory. After the inn was absolutely renewed it was renamed the Comfort Inn. This was Brooklyns 1st Chained hotel.
In November 2003, "Comfort Inn Gregory Hotel" was re-branded as the Best Western Gregory Hotel: Although the name features changed, the proprietors and operators, "Sunburst Hospitality" remains the same.
