General Information

Marmadukes is a Fine Small Hotel located just a short stroll from the Minster and the antique walls of the City of York. We have taken a classic Victorian Gentleman's residence and made a nicely planned family runned and operated Hotel with an emphasis on comfort and friendliness. All our suites have elegant handcrafted beds with Georgian and early Victorian ancient furniture and accessories. Our inside designers have cautiously blended the conventional with the current fashion. Our Relaxation Suite features Hot Tub, Sauna, Plunge Shower, Tanning Booth and Exercise Equipment. We have a delicious brasserie and Lounge with an open fire, often frequented by our 2 cats, Bella and Maud. After a tranquil drink why not take Dinner with us in our candle lit Dining Room? With unpretentious super food, a small light Jazz, Danny in the kitchen and Ella waiting on, Dinner at The Dining Room is a really pleasing occasion. Marmadukes also own one of Yorks most essential buildings, the 700 year ancient Lendal Tower, a Scheduled Historic Monument in the center of the City.
