Chaplin House was constructed in 1797 as an alehouse. It played a necessary part in the life of the countryside: the ground floor of the cottage was one commodious apartment in which parish conferences and other social gatherings were held. The hall quiet contains the original cast iron collection. Although it's no longer used for cooking, the fire in the collection is lit on winter in the evenings and it's simple to imagine life as it was lived here till the midst of the last century. The structure was last used as a social cottage in 1923. On arrival at Chaplin House, you'll be welcomed with home made cake and beverages so that you are able to begin to unwind and adore the tranquillity and stillness. In the refurbished barn, there is a twin bedded fully available apartment downstairs and family suite upstairs. Beyond the barn in a converted farm building is a first floor available double apartment with its own courtyard district while interior the cottage itself is another double apartment. With access to a PC and free wireless internet, there is a tranquil hall in the barn accessible for guests' prestigious use leading to a decked balcony overlooking the commodious rear park where you can have a rest. For lunch, we provide a variety of choices, including vegetarian options. Much of our make is locally sourced, independent collection and organic.
