General Information

Holly-wood is an attractive, peacefully located family runned Guest House perfectly placed just several mins stroll from Windermere Village center in the center of the Lake District. Bowness-on-windermere, with its boat rides and diverse specialist arts and craft boutiques, restaurants, cafes and inns is a short amble down the hill. The cottage is a lovely late Victorian bungalow built 1897 and silent contains some original has, a family run holiday hotel offering refined and solitary lodging, with amicable facilities and a sincere welcome in the center of the picturesque Lake District the rear drop to the new Miss Potter film, and home to The Swallows and Amazon books. The M6 motorway is directly 16 miles away and the major London Glasgow railway line features a stop off at Kendal Oxenholme station where you are able to catch the local connection 18 to 20 min to Windermere station. Arrival times must accompany all bookings. Apartments will be prepared for occupation from two. 00 pm. on the day of arrival, arrivals able to be any time from 11. 00am to three. 00pm or after five. 00pm and prior to 9.00pm. All apartments are required to be vacated by ten. 00 am. on the morning of departure, Strictly non smoking through-out, we are sorry we are unable to accommodate pets. We invite kids from ten years antique. Holly-wood features it is own little car parking at the back of the premises. Visitors will love our hearty breakfasts, both classical and vegetarian, which are catered in our roomy breakfast room between 8. 30 and 9. 30 am. We have a minimum two night booking for Weeekends (Friday Saturday Sunday) and a minimum three night booking for Bank Holidays.

Transportation

By highway leave the M6 at Junction 36 and head for Windermere on the A591. Turn left into Windermere itself and shortly after the 1st set of traffic lights turn 2nd left into Ellerthwaite Road. Turn left again into Holly Road. By train the major London Glasgow railway line features a stop off at Kendal Oxenholme station where you are able to catch the local connection to Windermere station. From the station follow the one way system through Windermere and after the 1st set of traffic lights turn left into Broad Street. Follow the highway to the end and turn right into Woodland Road and Holly-Wood is on the right hand side of the following cross highways.
