General Information
Rex and Karen Neville invite you to the Sheaf of Arrows - a family run pubbed & breakfast in the charming village of Cranborne, Dorset. Aside from a good selection of ales and wines, we also provide pretty hearty food and a cozy atmosphere in which to enjoy them. Our outside seating area offers a superior place to adore the sun and a cooling drink in the summertime. We provide lodging during all the year and have played landlord to clients from as far away as Australia. Cranborne is the ideal stop on a tour of the pretty counties of Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset. Kids are welcome. Well-behaved dogs are allowed. The countryside dates from Saxon times and features a lovely Norman parish church. The countryside was much-visited by royalty in the past, from King John in the 13th century to Henry VIII who founded the hunting lodge in the countryside. This building was used as a base to design the manor in 1611, a mix of old-fashioned walls and Renaissance architecture. In old-fashioned times the countryside was a trendy market place city. In the 1980s there was a reproduction Iron-Age Round House built which is now part of the Cranborne Ancient Technology Centre.
