General Information
The Wilson Arms is a friendly state inn located in small North Yorkshire Village of Sneaton, only 2 miles from the very heart of Whitby. The historic Grade II listed building, dates back to the eighteenth century and features an idle, familiar atmosphere, wooden beams and roaring log fires during the winter months. The Wilson Arms is located away from the fuss of up-to-date day life, in the center of the Eskdale vale. All suites at The Wilson Arms are en-suite and have color TV. Apartments also have tea/coffee making service, some enjoying marvelous views of Whitby Bay and The Abbey. Both Twin and Double suites are accessible. The Wilson Arms is advised in the "CAMRA Good Beer Guide" and besides "The Good Pub Guide" hand pulled ale are a speciality including Timothy Taylor's, John Smiths and Black Sheep. We are also pleased to propose probably the biggest selection of Malt Whiskies, over 50 at present. The region proposes lovely strolling on the North Yorkshire moors and beach. The historically minded will be fascinated by the antique Monks Pathway passing just below the hotel, for centuries an old route down to the ancient sailing port of Whitby. Surrounding is the Sneaton Beacon, part of a chain of Beacons along the east beach. In days gone by the flame warned of Northern invaders and, in new times, to celebrate main nation occasions.
