Here at the Feathers the inn features one major objective and that is to assure that you have a fully relaxed visit, if it be work or recreation. The Inn, initially a seventeenth centuty training inn, is located in the idyllic Hertfordshire countryside of Wadesmill. Back in the early 1600's the guesthouse was called The Princes Arms' and had been owned by different blacksmiths and tanners. In 1615 Ralph Osbertson purchased the guesthouse and later, in 1670, allowed his son to change the name to 'The Feathers'. It subsequently became one of the busiest training inns in the region, stabling over 100 horses. Documents of the period mention 5 bedrooms, a step parlour, moon parlour, lion parlour and different other suites. Today you will find the guesthouse with its festive ambience and ivy clad walls, a ideal mixture of nicely preserved buildings combined with up-to-date facilities that will make your vacation entirely unforgettable. Open all year round, 'The Feathers' just off the major A10 London to Cambridge Road within a short distance of both the M25 and M11 freeways. The cafe and restaurant are at the centre of 'The Feathers. ' They are popular meeting and eating places for visitors, work folk and local dwellers alike. The carvery specifically proposes a ideally cooked variety of conventional meats and poultry and features become locally notable for high quality food and facilities that is also fine value for money. Only obtainable on a Sunday. Exposed brickwork, seasoned beams and hospitable log fires create the ideal ambience to enjoy beautiful fayre. The always changing carte menu provides a big variety of popular and vegetarian dishes, we also provide an accepted selection of mouth-watering lunches and light refreshments from the brasserie.
