General Information
Embedded in the idyllic village of Walkington we are only 3 miles from Beverley with its elegant Minster conventional Market Square and boutiques. With Beverley racecourse just over 1 mile away, York and the East Coast cities of Hornsea, Bridlington and Scarborough surrounding, there is a lot to go through and do in the region. The Ferguson Fawsitt was named after 2 necessary local families. The original license at the Ferguson Fawsitt was granted in 1866 when J.D. Ferguson brother of the rector, married rich heiress Miss. Eliza Fawsitt. The original name of the pub was 'The Bay Horse' and the region now known as the 'Cocktail Bar' was aboriginally the countryside blacksmith's boutique which was in use till 1950. The Carvery district was the region the blacksmiths used to repair carraige wheels and shoe the horses. The Ferguson Fawsitt Arms features seen a lot of changes over the years but quiet contains plenty of has from bygone days. The most modern addition is our ten bedroomed lodging Lodge. The Lodge is located away from the major building giving stillness and tranquillity in a contempory but relaxing atmosphere.
