General Information

A recently re-equipped early Victorian cottage, 10 minute stroll away from the city center. Rutland Lodge is comfortably situated on the Babbacombe Road, directly up from the harbourside and Marina, with off highway car parking. The cottage features been refurbished to offer all present-day comforts while retaining the character of the 1850s building. Decorative has are pleasant to feel but Victorian plumbing is not excellent to hear! The showers are seriously picturesque. With Rutland Lodge I’m trying to give more freedom for visitors than the normal B+B. I live in the house next door, so ‘Rutland’ is wholly detach. The entire cottage – living room, park, greenhouse and kitchen - is for visitor use. I’ll be on hand to lay out the nutritious breakfas snack bar (and serene up!). There’s a peerless Jura ‘bean to cup’ 1 button simple to use coffee machine to assist yourself to during the day. The bedrooms are cozy equipped, all with marble clad adjacent bathrooms/shower suites. The beds are Rest Assured pocket sprung with memory foam. The TV’s are Panasonic 37” plasma with detach CD/DVD/MP3 players. Tea & coffee amenities are offered as well as the kitchen amenities. Flooring is solid oak to minimize allergies – with lots of sound insulation. 5 min stroll away are Wellswood’s pleasant cafes, delis, cafes and restaurants. Further down the hill is Meadfoot Beach with car park and cafe facing the sea.
