General Information
The four star accredited Borthalan Hotel is a little, hospitable, individually owned hotel individually maintained by the owners, Martin and Margaret Smith. The Borthalan Hotel is a cottage with a wonderful deal of character, set within its own property and built in the early twentieth century. It's superbly located in a solitary calm highway, with independent private car park and a pleasant park to enjoy, facing the golden sands of Carbis Bay coast and St Ives Bay. Surrounding is the beautiful fishing city of St Ives, reached either by the frequent gorgeous train amenities (3 minute trip) from Carbis Bay station (3 mins walk) or through the waterside footpath with its wonderful views of the sea and beach (35-40 mins walk). In this place you will discover a affluence of pleasing things to experience and do, including the nice harbor, the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, potteries and artists' studios, shopping, surfing and waterside strolls to name but several. A small further afield is the world widely-known Eden Project (1 hour), St Michaels Mount, Flambards Theme Park, The Minack Theatre and surely Lands End (30 minutes). There are terraces galore, state houses, tin mines, wildlife gardens and more. Surrounding you are able to stroll to a choice of restaurants. We are no doubt certificated and have a visitor hall for your personal use. All the rooms of the hotel are well appointed and cosy and most apartments have marvelous views of the sea and the West Cornish beach line.
