Rufflets Country House Hotel, St Andrews one of the oldest established and highest quality Country House Hotels in Scotland.

The turreted manor house cottage, embedded in ten acres of award-winning terraces one mile west of St Andrews, features been in the same family ownership since 1952. Rufflets proposes a wide range of lodging alternatives with 24 personally designed bedrooms and 2 self contained four-star Lodges in the grounds, making the inn a favorite for weekend and short breaks.

The Terrace Restaurant is recognized as one of the best in St. Andrews and the nearby area, with the hotel's own park supplying much of the fresh make.

Our prominent facilities and care to detail produce the guesthouse a favorite for Weddings, Civil Marriages and corporate occasions.
Regarded as one of best hotels in St Andrews, Rufflets features been given four Red Stars by the AA and four Gold Stars by Visit Scotland.

Rufflets Terrace Restaurant features been given 2 AA Rosettes for the past six years in recognition of the high standard of food. The restaurant is a current dining out site for local dwellers and has in all the great guides. Our head cook, Mark Nixon, makes full use of Scotland’s natural larder in his menus. Locally grown vegetables, soft fruits and herbs supplement our own seasonal park make. Fresh pastas, chutney, ice creams and sorbets are all made in cottage. Open for dinner daily from 7pm to 9pm.


The split-level Music Room Bar, with old oak hearth and roomy over mantle mirror, is where light snacks (Mon-Sat, 12. 30pm to 2pm) and brasserie evening meals (Sun –Thur 5pm to 7pm) are catered. Customers able to choose from a seasonally changing bar fashion carte menu, providing a selection of dishes to suit all appetites and tastes, from sandwiches to steaks, all personally priced.

One hours drive north from Edinburgh, 15 miles from Dundee, 20 miles Glenrothes, and only 1. five miles from St Andrews on the B939.
