Poppy Cottage Guest House is luscious 16th Century house, presented 4-star silver in June 2010 for its top quality of lodging and client amenities, and is attached to the home of Steve & Sally, at Ivy Cottage Farm. Located in the countryside of Carleton-in-Craven, only two miles from the historical, market place city of Skipton, with its four day open-air market place, Poppy Cottage is the best ground for those who would like to retreat the fuss of the city and example a 'cottage' fashion B&B, while investigating Skipton and the Dales. Carleton itself features it is own newsagents/village store, local pub serving meals, Post Office and Farm Shop and features some marvellous local strolls taking you around the countryside and into the city. Whether you favour to leave the auto beyond, you are able to conveniently stroll into Skipton using the social footpath across open fields, crossing the River Aire. Then take one of the hourly buses back from Skipton into the countryside. Poppy Cottage features been sympathetically renovated in 2009 and every personally designed bedroom enjoys vistas of the rural area and mountains behind. Every room is the whole with their own flatscreen TV with freeview and DVD player (DVD library available), towels and bathrobes, complimentary toiletries and tea/coffee making amenities with fresh milk obtainable from the customers fridge located in the breakfast room. Breakfast is catered in what was the orginal farm kitchen with the exposed inglenook hearth and Yorkshire stone flagged floor. We cater breakfast using our own 'flavoursome' sausage and bacon from our ourdoor reared pigs and local make from one of Skipton's award winning butchers and in July 2010 received our Enjoy England - Breakfast Award in recognition of this. We are also extremely pleased of the fresh eggs we cater with their vivid, yellowy yolks, favour of 'the girls'.
