The Hope Anchor as its name suggests was constructed originally for a watering hole for the sailors and ship builders as Rye was calm encircled by the sea up till the late 18th century. Although well known for its past, the Hope Anchor is known locally for its attractive views across the Quayside, Romney Marshes, Camber Castle and behind to the sea. Most of our suites enjoy these glorious views and to be honest they need to be seen to be believed. Although good during all the year, the sunsets in summer months bring locals, young and antique, to enjoy alfresco dining accompanied certainly with a glass or 2 of wine! We have a licensed pub which is quietly popular amongst locals. There is also the Log Lounge with a pleasant fire to greet you on your coming or after a vibrant stroll across the Marsh. Snack is catered in the Log Lounge, the Outlook or, The Harbour View Restaurant. Brasserie lunches are catered in the brasserie. Every bedroom features been personally styled and catered to a extremely high standard to comprise a straight dial phone, clock radio, flat screen colour television, hair dryer & hot drinks tray, plus several small niceties that usually meet with guests' approval. Most apartments also have WiFi connection. Standing on its own hill, Rye is a treasure trove of nice views with its winding cobbled streets and antique timber framed buildings.
