For over 200 years the Anchor features catered Porlock Weir's 15th century haven for sailors, walkers and huntsmen alike. Where Exmoor meets the sea, Porlock Weir is a pleasing working harbor with fair waterside vistas. Martin Miller along with his daughter Tanya have designed a hunting lodge by the sea. This 14-bedroom guesthouse is crammed with Martin's antiques and curiosities. The Anchor features all the hallmarks of his specific fashion. Roaring log fires, candlelit sensuality, books by the thousand and bowls of fruit and sweets, all washed down with a Millers award winning Gin and tonic. Our Coleridge Restaurant facing the haven serves the most high quality food with really local make. Why not follow in the footsteps of Lorna Doone and retreat into the timeless wilderness of the Exmoor National Park. Approximately Us Martin Miller along with his daughter Tanya are pleased to announce the opening of their 2nd hotel in Somerset. Following the primary success of Millers at Glencot cottage Wookey Hole we decided that a 'Millers by the sea' was a logical move forward. Millers at the Anchor Inn at Porlock weir is a 14 bedroom hotel and restaurant crammed with antiques, curios and we hope lots of marvellous clients. The guesthouse opened October 2009 and over the following few months we will be upgrading our bedroom and en-suite amenities. We hope Millers at The Anchor will bring the Anchor back to its former glory but with the addition of up-to-date technology, cordless and even theatre. We are waiting for friends and existing clients alike to specimen the pleasure of one of Somerset hidden gems.

Transportation

M5 to Bridgewater, or M3A303 to Taunton, then follow the A39 to Porlock. At the base of Porlock Hill turn right (signposted to Porlock Weir). You cant miss us - we are where land meets the sea!
