General Information

Moorlands Country House, designated non-smoking, is located below Haytor Rocks, the best known landmarks of the Dartmoor National Park. Its setting, on the wild open spaces of Dartmoor, was the inspiration for Agatha Christie's 1st book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. The 32 en-suite bedrooms look out over the rolling Devon country and the eight acres of ground where visitors able to also enjoy a game of croquet. The bedrooms are equiped with a hairdryer, clock radio and additionaly tea/coffee making service. Televisions and telephones are not provided in the bedrooms. Visitors are able to unwind in the 2 lounges and brasserie or play ping-pong in the toys suite. Meals are catered in an unofficial, familiar atmosphere at tables for up to 8 visitors. A three-course dinner is catered at seven to seven. 30pm for a charge of 18 GBP for a person. Whether you would like to have dinner at the grange please contact the cottage before 6pm to produce your dinner reservation. An option of full English or nutritious breakfas is offered. To enable you to produce the plurality of your tourism or strolling vacation, a self-select picnic snack able to be provided for small charge of ten GBP for a person. Free parking zone is obtainable. Please inform the grange beforehand whether you intend to arrive after 10.30pm. Bedrooms are attainable from two. 30pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by ten. 00am on the day of departure. With its impressive serene location, Moorlands is a peerless base for those on an activity or strolling vacation. Other surrounding sights include Compton palace and palace Drogo, Buckland Abbey and Becky Falls Woodland garden. This farmstead features a four-star Visit Britain rating.

Transportation

From the A38 take the A382 to Bovey Tracy. Turn left at the 2nd roundabout on to the B3387 to Haytor and Widecombe-in-the-Moor. After approx 12 mile take the left fork and ascend for approx three miles. Moorlands will appear on your left.
