Having been presented a Michelin Star in 2007 The Crown at Whitebrook is the ideal venue for food admirers. An amorous auberge embedded in 3 acres of terraces and pasture at Whitebrook, a little countryside just five miles from Monmouth and 1 mile from the River Wye, The Crown is a ideal base for exploration too. This district of the Wye Valley features justifiably been designated a locality of widely-known genuine beauty, with rugged limestone outcrops and gentle pastures offering the joy of the Wye Valley Walk and Offa's Dyke path. The early parts of the Inn were built between 1670 and 1707. In 1973 it was acurately restored and modernised, retaining the original Inn as the restaurant and loungebar and extending to give recent lodging. In creating his Michelin Star menus James Sommerin uses only the highly ultimate of fresh local make and classic French disciplines with imaginative flair. The ambiance remains warm and cozy with facilities being both considerate and appropriately relaxed. You are able to be sure of a sincere welcome.

Transportation

Directions from London: Travel west on M4, exit at mix 21 onto M48. Cross the antique Severn Bridge and take the 1st exit after crossing. Follow signs for Monmouth (A466) through Tintern and Llandogo. Just before Bigsweir Bridge, bear left for Whitebrook. See Signs, The Crown is two miles up a narrow state lane, on the left. Directions from Cardiff: Travel east on M4. Leaving the highway at fusion 24. Take the 1st left (A449A40) to Monmouth. Leave this dual carriageway immediately after the tunnel and turn left at the petrol station - follow signs to Trellech. After about 34 of a mile, take left fork, sign will read TrellechChepstow. Carry-on up the hill for 3-4 miles till you uncover a sign to Whitebrook, turn left, and the Crown is two miles on your right hand side.
