General Information

Located within Exmoor National Park, on the National Trust Holnicote Estate, we provide character and cosy bed & breakfast in our Grade II listed National Trust farmhouse, with marvellous terraces, herb park, and owl park attached. We are located within Porlock Vale, just a small walking distance from the graceful countryside of Porlock, close to the Devon border, in the southwest of England. The suites are cozy equipped, with antiques and Persian rugs, and top quality beds and soft furniture and accessories. The cottage proposes spell and pleasure, while preserving a lot of of the original 15th century architectural has. You'll find exposed beams, Victorian fireplaces, slate skirtings, and mullioned windows throughout the premises. An eco-friendly B&B, with TV, savoury coffee and tea making amenities and Wifi in all suites. Our breakfast is catered in the caller hall, or in the park sunshine on a firstrate summer months day, with fresh fruit, fruit juice, yoghurts, cereals, toast, a range of cooked or mainland alternatives, catered with tea and coffee. The big terraces are for you to unbend in, or enjoy one of our Somerset cream teas, homemade cakes, and home grown salads and herbs for breakfast. We have reconstructed the terraces to their original design, and have included a herb park, with culinary herbs, a Mediterranean herb rockery, a scented park, and cut flower park. Our herbs are used in your suites, in our dishes and are for sale in our boutique. We provide activities with our owls, birds of prey, horse riding and peculiar alpaca treks taking your out to Hurlstone Point. We have probably one of the best range of flying owls in the UK, and you are able to often see our youngsters and babies as our range grows. You are able to stay the Centre while staying with us, and admire the ongoing activities throughout the day. We invite dogs at our b&b, with their own dog bed, towels, and welcome pack of nibbles - there are mile upon mile of fabulous dog strolls over the mountains and via the forests surrounding.
