Middlewich is exactly 2 miles from mix 18 off the M6. Middlewich is located right in the centre of Cheshire's salt district. Timber framed housing, pottery and the remains of clay-lined salt evaporation chambers have been excavated. Middlewich brags a prime Parish Church in the city center, whose heritage dates back to Roman times. Middlewich is a key combination on the bustling waterway; here the Trent & Mersey joins the Shropshire Union Canal. Today these Canals and rivers are peaceful a main feature of the scenery around Middlewich and there are a lot of strolls that run alongside them.
