Our dear guests enjoy conventional Welsh cordiality and a sincere welcome. Nestling in the lively Welsh village but in a semi rustic serene location the Mount Pleasant features undergone a period of big renovation. The terraces face some thrilling landscape. Locally known as "The Black" The Mount Pleasant Inn is steeped in heritage. Its name is attributed to its links with the Black Lion Sidings, which once managed the endless stream of coal leaving Merthyr Vale Colliery. Now the dale features returned to its former beauty we has to offer a multiude of park amusements for all kinds of visitors. We are a five bedroom; fully en room family run, family welcoming B & B lodging situated 18 miles from Cardiff and at the gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park. Perfect for walkers and cyclists; we are neighboring to the eminent Taff Trail; 10 minute from the Welsh International Climbing Centre and the region is notable for hand gliding and paragliding Amoung the a lot of visitors to visit at the Mount Pleasant Inn we were happy to welcome members of both the Welsh and English Fishing teams Merthyr Tydfil was once the Iron capital of the world and is wealthy in culture and hosts a catalogue of sights including the noted route of the 1st steam hauled railway trip by Richard Trevithick in 1804, Cyfarthfa Castle and the Brecon Mountain Railway The ambiance is warm and welcoming here at the Mount Pleasant, yet effectual.
