General Information
Lindors is an ideal 19th century property located in the Welsh borders between Monmouth and Chepstow. It lies about one mile on the Coleford side of Bigsweir Bridge. The south facade of the cottage looks down its own dale into the major body of the vivid Wye Valley, with Offa's Dyke behind the woody slopes of Cleddon and Trellech Hill. Embedded in nine acres of terraces through which a brook descends by a series of waterfalls and pools to the River Wye, Lindors is an attractive base from which to discover the Wye Valley and the Royal Forest of Dean. Lindors is part of Christian Guild group of Hotels and we invite everyone, clients are self-sufficient to take part with as much or as small of the daily activities as they wish. When staying at Lindors you have complimentary use of our Indoor Heated Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts and Putting Green. Throughout the day, we provide lunches and Dinner is obtainable with prior notice, dinner is catered at 6.
Transportation
By highway from M4 and the South: Take the M48 across the Severn Bridge (for which the toll is currently £5. 30 for a car), and immediately leave the M48, taking the A466 signposted for Chepstow and Monmouth. Visit on this highway around the suburbs of Chepstow, through Tintern and Llandogo and across Bigsweir Bridge (controlled by traffic lights). Immediately after crossing the bridge, bear right up the hill following the signposts for Coleford. The entrance hall to Lindors is approximately mile along this highway on the right. By highway from M5 and the North: Take the M50 which leads into the A40 towards Monmouth. Turn left onto the A466 (signposted Chepstow) at the traffic lights on the Monmouth by-pass. After approximately seven miles in the direction of Chepstow, take the sharp left signposted Coleford, immediately before Bigsweir Bridge. The entrance hall to Lindors is approximately mile along this highway on the right. By highway from Gloucester: Take the A40 towards Ross-on-Wye then left on to the A48 towards Chepstow for about 15 miles. After passing through Blakeney, 1 miles turn right signposted for Bream, Whitecroft and Lydney. Drive into Lydney and turn right into Bream Road signposted B4231 to Monmouth and Coleford. After four miles turn directly at the T-junction onto the B4228 towards Coleford then immediately turn 1st left towards Clearwell. After one third of a mile take the 1st left towards Bigsweir and the Wye Valley. After three miles you'll find Lindors on your left. Alternatively, take the M5, M50 and A40 towards Monmouth, and follow the directions above. By rail: Travel to Lydney train station or Chepstow train station. There is no cab rank at Lydney and taxis are infrequent at Chepstow, so it's advisable to pre-book a cab from the station to Lindors - 8 miles from Lydney and 9 miles from Chepstow.
