Long Melford was a busy countryside in Tudor times, and quiet is, attracting clients and vacation makers from all over the UK. But The Bull predates still the Tudor monarchs - by some 35 years, having been built in 1450. The Bull is prominently located in the very heart of Long Melford, which features the longest high boulevard in East Anglia. Its original timber business, both outside and interior is unusually well conserved. That of the exterior was discovered in 1935 when a hundred year antique brick facade was removed. On a beam in the hall is carved a 'Wildman' or 'Woodwose', a mysterious being frequently depicted in the decor of the middle ages, reputedly to ward off evil spirits. You're aware of the Bull's old heritage as shortly as you stroll into the entrance. Its massive moulded oak beams dominate the reception and the original part of the structure. During the training era the Bull was the major Posting House of the city and a stopping spot of the London, Bury St Edmunds, and Norwich coaches. Today we calm sit back and adore the gorgeous Elizabethan hearth in the hall, and ancient carvings in the Cordell Restaurant. The Bull Hotel features been elegantly renovated in 2003 and is prominent for its select cuisine and chef's specialties. The Cordell and Kentwell restaurants cater plenty of tasty dishes, complimented by a magnificent selection of radiant wines. Lunchtime lunches are attainable in the Bar and during the afternoon, Cream teas able to be catered in the patio.
