General Information
Build 200 years ago, the Ayre Hotel is located facing Kirkwall harbor, just a short stroll from the principal street. The suites are easy and the hotels propose full dining amenities and a private facilities. All 34 suites have en-suite amenities, colour TV and coffee-making tray. There are 19 single apartments, most with double beds, three double apartments and 11 twin-bedded suites, so they can provide for all clients, including some downstairs apartments which are more good for the disabled. There are also disabled toilets on the 1st floor close to the restaurant and social brasserie. The guesthouse is located facing Kirkwall harbor, where the fishing fleet come and go and the ferries to the North Isles dock. Kirkwall is Orkney's principal city and the central point for exploration all the shire. If you want to look around the continental - from Skara Brae in the north to Burwick in the south, or hop on a ferry and stay the isles, you're never more than twenty miles from the inn. Orkney is steeped in heritage, going as far back as Neolithic times, so you'll never tire of things to go through and do, if you arrive during the summer and adore the long hours of daylight, or whether you arrive in winter for that break away from all the hassles of modern-day living.
