To get to Skye one often drives across on the A87, (which is the unequaled highway to the isles) from Inverness to the Skye Bridge, where it's essential to drive north calm on the A87 to the capital of Skye, Portree. On the A87, head through Portree and north towards the countryside of Uig, continuing throughout on the A87. We are a tiny hamlet, immediately before the countryside of Uig itself, called Cuil. There is just one signpost on the way indicating Cuil to watch for. We are number two South Cuil, though houses around here are not numbered. (However we are easily identified by the fact we are NOT a white cottage. ) It is simple to miss our turning whether you drive quickly, as it's well screened from the highway but simple to site whether you unhurried down. As you drop down the extremely highly steep slope approaching the countryside of Uig, watch out on the right hand side of the highway for a comprehensive white contemporary sign, marked Bayside studio art gallery. It is only past the nearest landmark, which is the extensive Uig hotel, visible as you drop down the hill on the right side of the highway. Turn left at that sign which leads you down to the seaside alongside a river and down a cute lane. There are several properties before us, so look for the further 3 white signs marked Bayside art gallery that will lead you to us. We are approximately half a mile along said lane. It's a greatly simple tarmac lane to drive along not specially narrow, and not remote in any way. We do have a portable sign a bit earlier along the A87 on the left hand side of the highway, before dropping down into Uig that you could also watch for, but this is not left out at night. N. B Uig is the departure point to sail to the Outer Hebrides and so we are highly well positioned for you to island hop from our emplacement.
