General Information

Swiss Cottage is a cute base for visiting the beautiful waterside cities and countrysides surrounding which comprise Aldeburgh and Thorpeness and Snape. The locality is dominated by heathland, marshland and woods perfect for anyone keen on strolling cycling and bird watching. Thorpeness underlines a huge Meare where you are able to hire canoes, rowing boats or a little sail boat and meander around the meare, stopping off at the small islands which feature a Peter Pan topic, including Wendys' House and Captian Hooks palace. Aldeburgh underlines a huge shingle coast, where fisherman restful draw up their colourfull boats and sell locally caught fresh fish, lobsters and crabs. There are a few shop butiques and plenty of bars and restaurants to stop off for a bite to eat. Snape, surrounding proposes Snape Maltings where one able to find boutiques, cafes and museums. Snape Maltings is also the home of the Famous concert lounge developed by Benjamin Britten as a place for classical music concerts. The Aldeburgh food celebration is also held in the grounds of Snape Maltings each September featuring foods, stalls and displays by local producers and food enthusiasts.
