Woodleigh Bed and Breakfast is a captivating Victorian cottage built in 1895 that features been imaginatively renowated to a high standard while retaining its original spell. Our park is open to all customers to enjoy. Ilminster is superbly located close to a lot of National Trust properties and regions of genuine beauty. These comprise Barrington Court, Montacute House, Forde Abbey and the Blackdown Hills. We are also only 18 miles from the Jurassic beach. Ilminster takes its name from the River Ile and the Minster church dating from 1450. The city grew up around the church and some of the oldest buildings are at the foot of the churchyard including the grammar school founded in 1549. In Victorian times the city was a necessary staging post for tourists with east-west and north-south routes converging there. Market place Square features a colonnaded market place cross rebuilt in 1813 and is encircled by handsome buildings. Ilminster is a pleasing and quiet city with an outstanding range of boutiques, a cinema and interesting avenue names like Strawberry Bank.
