The Malt Shovel a grade II listed pub, in the center of the Lambourn vale features been sympathetically re-equipped, in keeping with its image as a favourite watering hole for the racing fraternity for miles around. We are located in the countryside of Upper Lambourn, at the very heart of the racing community and encircled by the outstanding Lambourn Downs. It features constantly been frequented by an incredible but unpretentious clientele who love the Malt Shovels welcoming atmosphere. Really locals have gathered here for hundreds of years in what use to be the antique countryside bakery. The pub combines its amicable ambience with a brand-new fashionable decoration, throughout the conventional bars were fresh locally sourced, home-cooked food is catered. The Malt Shovel also features a peerless modern restaurant were the best of a la carte food is catered supplemented by excellent wines. Both the brasserie and the restaurant districts have been purposed to meet all tastes and give a high level of comfort throughout from our plush leather sofas to our fully air-conditioned bars. Transportation

From combination 14 of the M4 take the exit marked Wantage A338. After 200 yards take the exit marked Lambourn and Crickslade which is the B4000 till you reach the Hare pub on your left turn. Turn right which is calm B4000 and continue along that highway into Lambourn countryside. As you enter the countryside take the 1st turn on the left which features a sign for the Equine Hospital continue to the end of the highway and turn right, continue to the end of the highway and turn left this is the B4000.
