The Feathers is located in the centre of the good market place city of Helmsley in the North York Moors National Park. Facing the market place piazza, the guesthouse resides 2 distinct buildings parts of which date back to the 15th century. The Feathers is a local landmark, providing nineteen bedrooms, 3 bars and the biggest function venue in Helmsley (seating up to 200). Come and see why we remain one of Helmsley’s most famous venues. The guesthouse features a variety of apartments, Superior, Market Place, Standard and Economy. All suites are adjacent with color TV and tea & facilities of making coffee. Dogs are welcome. Apartments in the facade of the guesthouse have pleasant vistas over the market place piazza and onto to Helmsley’s historic palace behind. Helmsley is an old and popular market place city on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. It features many sights including Duncombe Park, Helmsley Castle and a little cinema. Full details of the sights in the region are gettable from the city's Tourist Information Centre in the ancient town lounge just in front of the hotel in the Market Place. The walled terraces, which once provided the Castle and then Duncombe Park with make, are now a fashionable guest attraction. Helmsley lies on the side of the River Rye and its banks produce a trendy picnic destination. A cute little tributary runs beyond the market place piazza and is equally popular with the Ducks. Further down the River Rye approximately 5 miles away is another stately home Nunnington Hall, a Jacobean manor house now cared for by the National Trust and a small further on is Ryedale's greatest stately home Castle Howard a Vanburgh master-piece and 1 of the greatest houses in the state.
