'Buckle Yeat' is famed for its connections with Beatrix Potter, the house being illustrated in the 'Tale of Tom Kitten' and 'The Pie and the Patty Pan'A conventional 17th Century Lakeland house with en-suite visitor apartments, which are stylishly embellished and accommodated with your comfort in mind every also have the extra comforts of tea/coffee making amenities, televisions and we also have self-sufficient Wifi access for visitors with their own laptops and a laptop accessible for visitors to check their email and access the I-net. Transportation

Close to Sawrey is located on the west side of Lake Windermere a mile from the ferry. Leave the M6 Motorway at Junction 36 and follow the A591 towards Windermere. At the roundabout just north of Kendal turn left and follow the ferry signs up the B5284 Crook Road .The Crook Road leads to the southern end of Bowness on Windermere and the ferry crossing is signposted. Whether you do not wish to use ferry when leaving M6 follow A590 to Newby Bridge and travel up the west side of Windermere towards Hawskhead and follow signs to Near Sawrey. Close to Sawrey is a mile from the ferry and Buckle Yeat is several yards from the countryside inn.
