4 star rated Meare Manor, situated in the center of the Somerset village, was indigenously the summer months residence for the abbots of Glastonbury Abbey. It proposes a sincere welcome into restful and cozy surroundings. The manor house is situated 3 miles from Glastonbury and Street and is within a short distance of the M5. It provides easy access to the historic city of Glastonbury, the cathedral town of Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Clarkes Village at Street and the pretty coasts of West Somerset and North Devon. Meare Manor is located right in the center of the Somerset Wetlands and Shapwick Heath Nature Reserve, which is managed by Natural England, is on our doorstep. There are also sites run by the RSPB who organize strolls in the region. For anyone who loves wildlife and delightful landscape this is the spot to come. There is a range of wildlife and birds and finest of all you might receive a gilmpse of an otter or 2! All suites are adjacent and well furnished. Complementary port and sherry is offered on arrival.
