General Information

This converted former hostel, features been sympathetically converted into 12 adjacent bedrooms, with beauteous vistas either of the fells to the North or the terraces, rivers and fells to the South. All apartments are greatly well furnished to a high standard and comprise flat screen TVs with DVD players (there is a DVD library for those wetter or lazier days) and WIFI for those that cannot be away from it all. All the bathrooms have bath and shower. On the 1st floor there are 2 huge sitting apartments, one with a homely forest burning stove and doughy sofas to laze on, the other equally as cozy, and with the added wide screen TV with Playstation hooked-up to it to entertain the kids (of whatever age). Breakfast is catered in a breakfast room facing the wide parks with the confluence of the River Esk and Whillan Beck; all dwellers have the use of this suite all day for making lunches in, or just to receive a corkscrew and a glass or 2. There are endless strolls direct from the door - river, flat or hilly - depending on the level of activity require. Plus, we have the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway on our doorstep (literally!).We are encircled by five fantastic Inns, all serving firstrate food and award winning genuine ale; none of them further than a five minute drive, and 2 of them within a ten minutes stroll.
