General Information

Welcome to The Hideaway Experience situated on our family farm close to the Sidlaw Hills, just north of Dundee, in Angus, Scotland. We have 3 Hideaways. The Old Romantics' Hideaway is a conventional house converted in 2005 and features a four star grading from Visit Scotland. The Lover's Hideaway and The Honeymooners' Hideaway opened in December 2010 and are recent build bespoke luxurious hotel room type suites which hope to achieve a five star grading from Visit Scotland in the spring of 2011. All 3 Hideaways are purposed exclusively for couples desiring to receive away from it all and spend time in tranquil and privately-owned environment. All are detach from every other and propose the whole solitude. The brief for our architect was to allow visitors to be naked in the hot tub with no one being can see them! The Hideaways are perfect for soothing weekends in addition to for honeymoons and other unique events. Why not have a picnic snack and take in spectacular views of Angus, Fife and Perthshire from the upper of Balluderon Hill beyond The Hideaway? Back in the amenity of your lodging stretch out and rest in the sauna then cool off with a fast blast of the open-air shower, then sink into the commodious double bath before enjoy some champagne in the open-air hot tub on the deck. For those desiring to unwind they need never leave The Hideaway, sit back and admire the double sided forest burning stove in the bedroom and hall before retiring to your 4 placard super king size bed with attractive vistas of the local village. The Hideaway Experience is your ideal escape for any time of the year. We are waiting for hospitable you to this delightful part of Scotland and to your luxury lodging.

Transportation

From Dundee and the south - heading east towards Aberdeen along the Kingsway ring highway which circles Dundee, take the left exit into Strathmartine highway at the roundabout after you see Tescos on your right. Keep on this highway, after one mile take the 2nd exit at the roundabout, then head out of Dundee, again taking the 2nd exit at another roundabout adjacent to a brand-new housing development. Drive direct through a small countryside called Bridgefoot, then keep on this highway, up the hill, round the bend and continue on through double corners. Further along this highway you'll come to a farm highway end with a sign for Balkello and The Hideaway. Turn in here. Drive up the highway past 3 cottages and keep going - the Hideaway is direct past the farmhouse on your left, on the other side of the farm buildings.
