General Information

As a merry family run hotel, we provide homely lodging, home-cooked food, a choice of authentic ales and a malt whisky selection of over 200. We provide a variety of apartments either outside in our house fashion buildings in the guesthouse grounds or in the major building. All rooms in the hotel have one double or twin single beds with single sofa beds available(on demand at a supplemental charge). We invite families and well behaved pets are also welcome in our house suite outside lodging. Our Restaurant and Lounge Bars propose an option of alternatives for food, all of which is home-cooked with puddings to die for! (Please note that the Restaurant may be subject to availability at holidays, Bar Meals are constantly accessible however). We are unofficial, suitable and straightforward. Our dear guests come back again and again and call us their 2nd home! We have bookable conference facilities and lots of independent privy car car park also. Small countryside of Castlecary, sits just off the A80 with the guesthouse being the unique hotelpublic houserestaurant in the countryside, therefore also being the 'Local'. Strategically located in the centre of Central Scotland, and very close Scotland's major highway network, M8M9M73M74 we are easily reachible by all means of transportation. (Please be aware of roadworks in the region till late 2011. Follow diversion signs for Castlecary)All the principal cities and towns of Central Scotland, in addition to some of the countries most alluring landscape, such as The Trossachs and Loch Lomond, in addition to treveller park amusements are within a short distance of us providing a captivating base for rest or work travel. Sights such as the sumptuous Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle and the Forth and Clyde Canal are only a short way away. We are also only 250yards from the Antonine Wall, which features World Heritage Status, Scotland's fifth history place. We understand that this spot was once one of nineteen forts along the length of the wall, however there is small to go through now. We hope that in being granted this status, there will be some upgrading to this part of the premises and easier access for guests. However, it's calm worth visiting, with a small imagination! Transportation

We are located on the B816 which is exactly off the A80, and the major route between the major towns of Glasgow (25mins town centre) heading south and Stirling (15mins town centre) heading north. Castlecary is a little countryside, and the 'Castlecary Arches' the railroad bridge is a famous local landmark. We are perfectly located whether breaking a long trip or simply searching for a base from which to discover central Scotland. Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports are comfortable to reach and Croy and Cumbernauld train stations are just several minutes away. The A80 is currently being upgraded to motorway status and there are diversions in site with diversion signs to Castlecary, whether coming by auto from north or east diversion is clearly marked and follow signs for Dullatur. Whether coming from the south then there are no diversions, simply follow the signs for Castlecary and the B816. There is a spacious Shell Petrol Station just ahead of the turn off.
