The Old Homestead is an award-winning state holiday hotel offering top quality bed & breakfast lodging in the Lorton Valley in The Lake District National Park. The site includes a stupefying renewal of a traditonal Cumbrian long cottage and is full of character and Olde World spell but features been decorated with comfort in mind. The light and graceful suites have exposed beams complimented by Oak furniture, and slate floors warmed by underfloor heating. 2 of our ground-floor apartments have amenities for visitors with mobility problems. The Old Homestead features an extensive, friendly hall with an Honesty Bar for recreation drink by the log fire. Your hosts Zen and Jayne, are there to invite you and chef a conventional Cumbrian breakfast (vegetarian option available) or nutritious breakfas to prepared you for the days occasions. Our holiday hotel is located in the Northern Lake District and lies at the head of the halcyon dale of Lorton. The site is just 2 miles from the market place city of Cockermouth and 10 miles from Keswick. There are 5 lakes within simple driving distance - Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite, Crummock Water, Buttermere and Loweswater.

Transportation

M6 north, take Penrith exit 40 onto the A66 in the direction of Keswick. Continue on the A66 past Keswick for approx five miles, turn left at sign Lorton four Buttermere ten. At T combination turn right and continue till sign for Old Homestead indicates left turn. After two hundreds meters take SECOND LEFT. You've arrived!
