Aa 'Highly Commended' Award winners 2004-10.Watermead is a cheerful, family run Guest cottage where a cordial reception awaits you. This delicate Victorian bungalow, built in 1875, is advantageously located on the A30 at the upper of the High Street, but in a tranquil situation, set back some 50 meters along our own privately-owned driveway. Within our ten ample bedrooms we provide a big variety of top quality bed & breakfast lodging, good for both short and longer stays for either work or recreation. Our dedication to cordiality, cleanliness and client amenities features resulted in us being given for 7 consecutive years, the accolade from the AA of a ' Highly Commended ' holiday hotel. All bedrooms have tea and coffee, flat screen digital tv, toiletries, hairdryer, alarm clock radio and main heating. Iron and trouser press available on the occasion of a demand. Independent WI FI access. We are utterly non-smoking within the cottage. Our big private parking zone which is neighboring to the cottage, features ample space for up to twelve autos. The boutiques, inns, restaurants and facilities of the city are just a short meander away. Newly cooked, hearty English breakfast (or vegetarianlighter options) made with locally sourced make are catered in our light and roomy breakfast room with greenhouse facing the park. The historic city of Chard is an attractive base for exploration the plenty of enjoyment of Somerset, Devon and Dorset or for breaking the long trip to Cornwall. The Jurassic Coastline (for the keen fossil hunter! ) and the ever-popular River Cottage are both within a panoramic 25 minute drive.

Transportation

On the A30 at the upper end of the High Street. There is a sign at the end of our lane, turn in and our parking is approx 50 m down next to the cottage.
