General Information

Within the Dartmoor National Park, Parford Well is an highly homely cottage embedded in a scenic walled park facing unspoiled village in the River Teign Valley. Dartmoor National Park covers a district of 368 piazza miles - the biggest and wildest region of open state in southern England. All year round Dartmoor is an exceptionally picturesque site to stay, with deep woody gorges, picturesque lake-like reservoirs and tumbling rocky rivers. It's the perfect place for several days break whether you want to 'get away from it all', rest and be well looked after. There are excellent strolls on the doorstep in this woody vale and on the open moor. Chagford is one mile away as is Castle Drogo, the twentieth century palace now in National Trust ownership. It's a ideal tourism center and day trips from here may comprise the Eden Project and the North Cornish Coast or Dartmouth, Totnes and the South Hams. Parford Well is a 'no smoking' cottage and I regret is not good for kids under 8 years or for pets as there is a dog in residence.
