General Information
Located right in the centre of the Derbyshire Peak District the Devonshire Arms proposes reasonably priced BandB lodging consisting of four single, 1 double and a family suite. All our apartments are en-suite and have self-sufficient vista TV, tea/coffee making amenities and are painted to a generous standard with oak furniture made by a local craftsman. We provide a conventional full English breakfast and our home cooked food is obtainable to purchase from 12 til two and six til 8. We have a prestige for wonderful food and beautiful company. Buxton features it is own thermal water which the Romans delighted a lot of years ago, nowadays the Bath House is no longer open to the social but clients able to collect their own water from our extremely own well. Other park amusements not far from are the Buxton Opera House which features been landlord to a lot of plenty of outstanding names and features a Gilbert and Sullivan celebration each year when persons come from all over the world. The Crescent features just received funding from the Lottery and is in the process of being renewed to incorporate an hotel and meeting facilities. Hrh Prince Charles features taken a special interest in the restoration and features visited Buxton a few times with his wife Camilla. For the younger visitor theres lots to do, there is go-karting, Pooles Cavern where you are able to go metro, the Chestnut Centre, a high rope course called Go Ape, a donkey sanctuary where you are able to adopt a donkey, a nicely landscaped garden in the Pavillion Gardens and a driving collection. We also have two 18 golf courses for those of you who enjoy a gentle walk together with hill strolling, horse riding and cycling via the most magnetic village in the land. Buxton also features it is own speedway team who ride at the surrounding High Edge Raceway which also hosts regular banger races.
Transportation
The Devonshire Arms is visible from the A6 just as you enter the city from the direction of the M60 at Stockport. Frequent trains run from Manchester to Buxton. Leave the station carpark turn left, direct over mini roundabout, left at the following mini roundabout, take the following left up the hill and the Devonshire arms is visible from the highway on the left hand side.
