The original cottage was constructed in 1570 and the Queen Anne front was added in the early 18th century, when it was turned into a manor. Today it's a distinguished Country House Hotel lately restored to reflect its original elegance. The structure is listed as being of historic interest, embedded in 5 acres of land leading down to the River Lark.
