General Information
The Commodore Hotel is superbly located on the rock tops at Southbourne next to the rock lifts and Fisherman's Walk. The magnificent vistas across Poole whirlpool take in Swanage to the West and Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight to the East. It is serene location, at the foot of the New Forest, and Bournemouth city center, makes it a lovely base from which to discover Hampshire and Dorset. The Commodore was constructed in 1928 and was aboriginally called Crawford's Tea Rooms. In the war it was used to cottage serving American airmen. In the early 50's an extension was added and it became Crawford's Bar and Hotel. Not long after that, it became The Commodore Hotel. Have dinner in our interesting Lounge Bar with scenic sea panorama where admirable value food is obtainable daily or simply recline and have a drink from our dainty variety of authentic ales, wines and spirits. Every of our 12 en-suite bedrooms are all non-smoking, and have been fully restored in Spring 2008 and are now equiped with brand-new deep pocket sprung divans. Every of the attractive and homely suites now has deluxe duvets and pillows, and toiletries from Gilchrist and Soames. All of the bathrooms have also been renewed with recent English fittings and power showers.

Where ARE WE? The Commodore is located on the rock upper highway over looking the sea(Southbourne Overcliffe Drive) to the east of Bournemouth in Southbourne. Nearest railway station is Bournemouth or Pokesdown station. Bournemouth International Centre is directly 10 min away y auto.
