General Information

Primarily built as a Coaching Inn, and as the Village's principal Coffee House, by James Sandy in 1772, the Alyth Hotel sits in the Market Square of the picturesqe Highland Village of Alyth, just North of Blairgowrie. Located above the fertile Strathmore Glen, the inn is the perfect heart from which to tour the style spots of Perthshire, Angus and the Grampian Highlands. The gorgeous and amicable tranquil location produce the guesthouse widely-known as a relaxing base for an activity vacation, for an unspoiled or romantic break, or as a rustic escape for little 'brainstorming' conferences. There are 12 huge en-suite bedrooms, all of which able to accommodate a minimum of 2 persons, and a maximum of six. All rooms in the hotel have savoury coffee and tea making amenities, color televisions and trouser presses and are all non-smoking. There are 2 little conference rooms. The James Sandy Restaurant proposes an authoritative taste of Scotland, and uses only the best and freshest local make to design a carte menu of real local and national peculiarities. The Falconer's Lounge Bar proposes a matchless variety of beers, spirits and wines, in addition to a choice of over 30 malt and single malt whiskies, and the following door Public Bar proposes clients the opportunity to fusion with local persons, and to play a game of dartrs, pool, or to enjoy training occasions on the High Definition TV with Sky salellite channels.


Transportation

By Air: thirty minutes drive from Perth and Dundee Airports, and with easy reach from the chief airports at Edinburgh, Glagsow, Inverness and Aberdeen. By Train: Good Rail links exist between Alyth and both Perth and Dundee, both of which are within 45 min drive of Alyth. By Car: (From Edinburgh)Take the M90 Motorway north, across the Forth Road Bridge. This highway briefly becomes the A90. Continue on this highway and then follow the M90 to the suburbs of Perth. Take the A94 to Coupar Angus, then take the A923 to Blairgowrie, and then the A926 to Alyth. By Car (From Glasgow)Take the M80 Motorway, North towards Stirling. This highway becomes the A80. Take the M9 Motorway (which becomes the A9) past Sterling and up to the suburbs of Perth, then follow the route described above. By Car: from DundeeTake the A923 through Coupar Angus to Blairgowrie, then follow the route described above. By Car: (From Aberdeen)Take the A90 South, towards Perth, then take the A923 directly to Alyth.
