Follow the A36 south from Bath (signposted Warminster). Continue direct over traffic lights at the viaduct. Climb the hill passing the Rose and Crown Pub on left. Take next left, Church Lane, Freshford. Follow highway past school, post office and The Inn. Climb Staples Hill to the upper, highway levels out. Shrubdown will be found about 400 yards on right. Press buzzer on electric gate.
