General Information

The Morritt is a Grade II listed 17th Century, farmstead hotel with popular values and warm, attentive personnel. Advantageously located just off the A66 Transpennine Route (9 miles west of Scotch Corner), embedded in the tranquille hamlet of Greta Bridge. 27 en-suite bedrooms (21 in the major building, 6 situated in the inn grounds) all with self-sufficient wi-fi, cordiality trays, straight dial phone and color TV with freeview. Our modern restaurant (Gilroy's) features a great image for food in addition to an award-winning wine catalogue (over 100 bins to select from! ) and our conventional Dickens brasserie serves hand-pulled ales (Timothy Taylor's Landlord, BlackSheep Ale and Seasonal Guest Beers). Nicely panoramic gardens produce a great setting for warmer days and for those cooler months we have roaring log fires. Perfect both for work and recreation we provide meeting rooms with natural daylight in addition to privately-owned dining by arrangement. There are idyllic strolls on the doorstep (ask at Reception for details), and the Tees Valley and Yorkshire Dales are all but a stones throw away.

Transportation

From A1M (South- and Northbound) - Exit at the Scotch Corner Junction joining the A66 (westbound), following signs to Penrith. Continue for approx. 9 miles then take left hand turn to Greta Bridge, follow the highway over the bridge - the inn is on you left. From M6 (Southbound) - Exit at mix 40, unite the the A66 (eastbound) follow signs for DarlingtonScotch Corner. Contiunue for approx. 40 miles then take right hand turn to Greta Bridge, follow the highway over the bridge - the guesthouse is on your left. From M6 (Northbound) - Exit at Junction 30, combine the A685 towards Brough. At Brough combine the A66 eastbound and contiue for approx 19 miles then take right hand turn to Greta Bridge, follow the highway over the bridge - the guesthouse is on your left.
