Small Owl Lodge faces our Alpaca farm and encompassing Durham Dales village. The region is perfect for strolling and cycling and is a matchless base to stay other parts of County Durham, or neighbouring counties of North Yorkshire, Cumbria and Northumberland. Teesdale is an unspoiled scenery of green valleys and dry stone walls, grouse moors and fells. Our farm is located near the edge of the North Pennines Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this region encompasses a spacious district in Teesdale, and part of neighbouring Weardale. We provide independent conveyance to and from local pub or restaurant once a month whether required (within ten mile radius, whether weather terms are suitable). In the lodge you'll have access to a choice of Local Guide Books, Maps and Local Walk Details, Attraction’s Leaflets, Flora and Fauna Guides, Details of Local Pub and Restaurant Menus. We also have a choice of children’s and adult’s toys, jigsaws and books accessible. We provide a Complimentary DVD Service (Comprehensive Library 100 titles). You're extremely welcome to meet our farm animals (and even assist with feeding), but for your own and our animals security we like you to arrange this with us. We are located in a rustic tranquil location 1/3 of a mile from the major highway with driving access along a farm track, we are encircled at a distance by other farms - the attractions and sounds, (and sometimes smells! ) of a farm should be expected. Over the past few years we have planted plenty of trees and hedgerows to encourage wildlife, and have installed bird boxes to encourage nesting birds. We have a lot of Owl clients to the farm, which consists of our resident Little Owl, in addition to Barn and Tawny. Shop/newsagent ¾ mile. Pub ¾ mile. Mini supermarket three miles.
