General Information

The Abbeyfield Hotel is a cosy and personal hotel with restaurant, located in the antique countryside of Talybont, lying two miles to the East of the town of Bangor in Gwynedd, within short distance of the National Trust property, Penrhyn Castle. Abbeyfield is a beautiful base to discover the elegant and varied North Wales district. In its a few centuries of existence, it features been a Coaching Inn, a Farmhouse and since 1968, a privy owned Hotel providing a high standard of comfort and hospitable cordiality.

Transportation

How To Get To Bangor From England, Scotland and the Continent(Option 1)If you're coming from Scotland, turn off the southbound M6 towards the westbound M56. Whether you're coming from the south of England or the Continent, then turn off the northbound M6 towards the westbound M56. Visit on the westbound M56 till it terminates. From here head for the A55 expressway. Visit on the A55 expressway along the North Wales beach. The 1st exit for Bangor is the A5 exit. Leave the expressway at this exit and head for the A5 (formerly the A5122) in the Bangor direction. Take a right turn at the 1st roundabout and you'll see the signs for Abbeyfield Hotel on your left approx half a mile further on. (Option 2)After coming out of Birmingham, visit on the northbound M6 till you get to the M54 exit. Visit on the westbound M54 till it terminates. From here head for the A5. Visit on the winding highways of the A5 via the Snowdonia hills till you get to the A5A55 roundabout. At the roundabout carry direct on the A5 (formerly the A5122) towards Bangor. Visit on this highway till you get to the roundabout close to Penrhyn Castle. Turn directly at the roundabout, with penrhyn Castle entry to your left. Continue down the hill till you see signs for Abbeyfield hotel approx half a mile further on. Option two is not advised for tourists from the North of England or Scotland. The condition of the A5 is poor in some places, and able to be unhurried during the high season and other busy periods.
