General Information

Glan-y-gro is an ideal and quiet lakeside BandB, constructed in 2009. The setting is simply amazing. Robert and Vicki de Hoxar invite you to their home on the shore of Bala Lake. Customers are welcome to come for weekends or as a group using the conference rooms. There are 4 acres of forests which features been planted with a range of trees to maximise the biodiversity. We have seen otters, buzzards, rabbits, hares, moles and a range of birds, amphibians and reptiles. We have an intimate foreshore, a summer months cottage and a home theatre apartment where we show a choice of family welcoming DVDs. One of our dear guests told us that this is a 'dark sky' region and he was can see more stars than normal with his telescope. All apartments are comtemporary, en apartment and luxuriously fitted with each present-day convenience except tv. The dining room is big and attractively furnished. A full breakfast is catered which will suit almost each dietary requirement, We have a 'level access' apartment specifically built for those with limited mobility.

Transportation

You are sure to find us by looking at glan-y-gro on GoogleMaps. Alternatively, approach Bala from the North East on the A494 (T). As you enter the city turn left at the crossroads on to the B4391, signposted Llangynog. Pass the North end of the lake then turn right onto the B4403, signposted Llangower. Follow the South East shore of the lake for 1 mile past the sailing club, past the Bala Lake Hotel and we are the following drive on the right. There are regular coaches to Bala from Wrexham or Llangollen and infrequent ones from Llandudno. We able to collect you from Bala.
