General Information

Compton House is located in the attractive historic market place city of Ashborne. We are a family run holiday hotel with accent on wonderful food and quality lodging with a warm, familiar atmosphere. Celebrated breakfasts including sausage, bacon, eggs and milk all produced locally in the Peak District. Home made jams and marmalades. Initially our home was 3 terraced cottages, which have been converted into one, rather individual cottage and features been our home since 1986. Ashbourne features a 9 golf course, Leisure Centre offering squash, swimming and a gymnasium. Tennis courts and bowling greens able to be found in our pleasantly located garden and terraces, all within a short distance of the holiday hotel. There is sailing, wind surfing and canoeing accessible at Carsington Water only five miles away. Cycles able to be hired from the heart on the Tissington Trail, only 5 minutes amble from Compton House. Cycles are also accessible at Carsington Water. Ashbourne proposes an exquisite base for tourism the Peak District National Park (the 1st national garden in England formed in 1951) by auto, or strolling in our outstanding Dovedale, Milldale, or plenty of other beauty spots of the region.
