General Information
Langholmen Hotel was once a prison. The inn is housed in the ancient Crown Prison, which was constructed in the early 19th century. In the midst of the structure is the gorgeous art gallery dating from 1866. This features presented us the hotel's lively, open atrium. In 1975, the last prisoner was discharged and in May 1989 we opened the guesthouse after 2 years' refurbishment business. The cells are now pleasingly and functionally equipped, every with its own shower, WC, phone, radio and cable TV. We have 89 single and 13 double cells, of which ten have amenities for the disabled. All our cells are smokefree. The ancient prison entry lounge features been converted into a reception desk, with a snack bar open days on end a day. Times change, and staying in a cell is now an adorable experience. We guarantee to provide you with your own key, and that breakfast includes more than bread and water. Housed on the ancient, converted Crown Prison on the Green Island of Langholmen in the midst of Stockholm.
