The Royal Guest House Port Alfred

General Information

The Royal Guest House is located on the Indian Ocean in Port Alfred. This quaint waterside city able to be found midway between Port Elizabeth and East London in the malaria self-sufficient Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The beaches are almost deserted and our major coast is a secure Blue Flag recognised coast. Our holiday hotel is high on the east bank of the Kowie River which runs through Port Alfred and faces the amicable marina. We are 2 minutes' drive from the very heart of city where you have access to all modern facilities, and a one minute's drive will receive you to the nearest coast. We have 10 luxurious rooms, all with bathrooms, air-conditioning, 8 channels of satellite, a mini-bar fridge, tea and coffee amenities, phone and hair dryer. All are fitted with double beds and 2 of the suites have up-to-date, cosy sleeper couches as well. The addition of a couple of bunk beds makes one of these into a greatly user amicable family apartment sleeping six. The comfortable hall features a brasserie, tv, recliner chair and plush hall room facing the marina. We also have a comprehensive log fire should the in the evenings turn chilly. French doors from the hall open onto a superb wooden deck (with pool and loungers) from where you are able to face the city and out to sea (sometimes spotting the odd migrating whale!

Transportation

Enter the city on the R72 and continue via the traffic intersection (traffic lights just before the bridge) and proceed up the hill. Coast Crescent is at the upper, on the right, directly in front of the Halyards Lodge and Spa.
