Makalali features 4 detach camps located on the banks of the Makhutswi River on 22 000 hectares of Lowveld Acacia and open savannah grassland. Every camp features six luxury apartments with en-suite bathroom, open-air shower, hearth and raised timber ‘sala’ (private viewing deck/lounge). All of our rooms are individualy colored in African design styles with sculptured metalwork lamp shades and taps, and ceramic basins. Mosquito nets surround the king-size beds by night, and insect repellent, hairdryers and bathrobes are offered. Makalali is quickly becoming recognised for its peculiar brand of African Cuisine, put together by a devoted team of "Makalali Makers, Bakers and Shakers". Cuisine at the lodge includes bush breakfasts, slow snacks in the hand-crafted open-air "salas", and the fabulous boma and bush dinners, where clients able to enjoy a range of breathtaking dishes, from Moroccan Lamb with Lemon and Coriander to Grilled Kingklip in Chermoula. Makalali is totally certificated and is can serve for a range of specific visitor dietary needs including: Vegetarian, Vegan, Low fat / Salt / Sodium meals.
